Instructor Janet Katz shows Tina Guerin how to load a shotgun.
Tina, who says she loves to shoot, attended the event
with
her daughter Lacy Ebarb, a student at Florida International Univ.

Lacy Ebarb prepares to fire a shotgun. Lacy, who was visiting
her mom Tina, attended the event to get used to shooting,
something she will have to do as an Army ROTC student
at
Florida International University. She plans to go into
active duty as an officer after she graduates from college.

Archery instructor Susan Zilke looks on as 15-year-old
Elizabeth Gates takes aim at an archery target. Zilke says archery is good for kids
because it teaches them concentration and how to slow down.
She hopes to see more schools in
South Carolina adopt archery programs
because she believes that participating in activities such as archery
keeps
kids
off the streets and drugs.

Archery instructor Margaret Cundall watches as Tracy Gates readies to shoot.
